This Halloween, I have pledged to participate in the Teal Pumpkin Project™. The Teal Pumpkin Project™ raises awareness of food allergies and promotes a safer, happier Halloween by encouraging households to make non-food treats available so that trick-or-treaters who need to avoid candy due to food allergies or other health reasons can fully participate. (Quick fact: 1 in 13 kids under 18 has a food allergy.)
This doesn’t mean I am only giving out non-food treats. Being a part of the Teal Pumpkin Project™ just means that I will have an option available for kids who need to avoid candy. And if you don’t have any idea of what to give out to trick or treaters that isn’t treats… there are so many options! Check out the Halloween section at your local Target or the Dollar Store…. I picked up glow bracelets, mini Play-doh, notepads, stamps, bubbles and pencils. You can also check out Oriental Trading and Amazon for great deals on huge novelty assortments.
If you are interested in learning more, I would encourage you to visit the Teal Pumpkin Project™ movement‘s website. Thank you so much for considering to joinTeal Pumpkin Project™. Feel free to share this information with your family and friends. And here’s the official printable teal-pumpkin-flyer & teal-pumpkin-sign.
